My Shepherd

You are my Good Shepherd, and I have everything I need.

With You here, I am content to lie down in green pastures and rest. When thirst rises, You gently lead me to calm waters so that I may drink. Oh, how You refresh my soul!

I am utterly confident in following You because You always lead along righteous paths that bring honor to Your Name. Even when I walk through dark, shadowed valleys and face various forms of death and loss, I am not afraid because You are by my side. Your rod and staff shield and guide me. What a comfort!

Danger lurks all around as You prepare my food, yet I am safe because Your Presence wards off every evil threat. I eat and find myself strengthened and satisfied. Afterwards, You lovingly bless my head with healing oil. What an honor! My cup overflows with blessings!

Surely goodness and love will be faithful companions all the days of my life, and oh, how I will rejoice when you bring me home. Nothing will be more wonderful than to be with You forever.
