Dear Readers,
It’s time for more chuckles. Here are a few more memories from my journals to the kids.
I’d love to hear your anecdotes! There’s a comment button below!

Dear Timmy,
When we told you that you will grow up to be as big as Daddy, you emphatically stated, “No, me ‘ittle!” You just wouldn’t believe it.
During a thunderstorm you said, “That was Jesus who clapped.”
Once when we talked about heaven, you asked. “Mommy, do you need a ladder to get to heaven?” So I asked what you thought. “A big one, Mommy, a big one!”
This was your heartwarming prayer at dinner: “Dear Jesus, I wike you. Bye bye.”

Dear Justin,
You have a cute way of saying things: Daddy drives a “van-twuck;” a helicopter is a “hyahopper;” and although Christmas is long gone, you still want Mommy to sing “Away in the Dangerous.”
Yesterday you were climbing your monkey bars, and I played pretend that you were climbing a mountain. “Oh, is God up here, Mommy?” you wondered. When I affirmed, yes, you called out, “Hi, God!” After a pause, “Mommy, why doesn’t God answer?” So I explained that God mainly speaks to us through his Word, but I, too, was a little sorry that we can’t just say, “Hi, God,” and hear his audible reply.
Yesterday you told me that Opa had brown ears because he drinks so much coffee.
A few days ago, Daddy thought that he’d seen you misbehave, so he asked, “Justin, did you kick Timmy?” You didn’t answer for a time, then you said, “I missed him, Dad, I missed him.” I think this approach did help you elude consequences!
We talked about whether or not you would like to have another baby brother or sister. At first you said no. Then you decided it might be a fine idea, and you suggested we “go to the hossipitle and buy one.”
You recently got an immunization shot, and when they gave you a sticker, you offered the other arm!
When I tucked you in to bed the other night you said solemnly, “I like you, Mommy.” Then a pause. “I don’t like Daddy.” When I asked you why not, you said, “I only like one at a time. Tomorrow at 3:00 I will like Daddy.”
And here’s a song I wrote for my kids (caution—90’s music)!
DO YOU KNOW
Sometimes I’m so busy Running here and there I try to be all you need But I’m scattered everywhere Often I have intentions To make the time to play But evening comes and things aren’t done There goes another day Let me sit here by your bed Let me place a kiss on your head Let me hold your hand and pray Let me say the things I need to say CHORUS Do you know how much I love you Do you know how much you mean to me Do you know that you are special And make the world a happy place to be Do you know how much I love you Do you know how much you mean to me Do you know how I thank the Father For giving you to me. Tomorrow in the morning I’ll take you to the zoo The monkey and giraffes will make you laugh And you can pet a kangaroo Now tuck your teddy under the covers And hold him really tight I’ll give you both a big bear hug And a little kiss goodnight CHORUS

Oh Ruth how much fun thank you for sharing your personal stuff. The song you wrote is amazing and heart warming!! 🤩
Oh how precious are the thoughts and words of children.. It’s so wonderful that you recorded these things from your memories and a wonderful gift for your boys. And yes I agree with Michaelle’s comment about your song. It’s the sweetest and most heart warming song. I also loved Opa’s brown ears! Please keep sharing Ruth it fills my soul!
